The Best Online Bank Miles Away
Comments: I do use Wise literally daily from almost three years. I have to travel a lot, and I find their rates to be the best with no questions.
Pros:
It does offer great exchange rates. You can literally a bank account in different countries like EEUU, UK, Belgium, etc. The money transferring system is super easy to use
Cons:
As the time pass, it has become more difficult to open a Wise Account. It does not allow Venezuelan customers to manage their cards, nor their accounts while in Venezuela, and it is a terrible deal, since you might be eventually parked at some places, and you won't be able to use your funds. The customer support is not as good as it should be. I found myself looking for Wise customer services in different countries once a particular time zone is closed. There are no physical or virtual cards for businesses in the United States, then it is super limited the money management.

Wise is great
Comments: Great app. ! I have been using it for 2 years now . Never failed
Pros:
Wise is the best! The fee is not that high . I find it quick during the week days
Cons:
The fees that went up lately and I cannot use the card in my country
Will never use it again
Comments: THEY WILL FREEZE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT USE IT! I've been using Wise for a long time without any issues. However, after not using it for over a year I so, I needed to make a transfer to Brazil. I updated the app and re-entered my information multiple times until I could finally initiate a transfer. But when I tried to send the money, I kept getting a message saying, "Payment Unsuccessful," with no further explanation. I tried two more times and encountered the same error. When I logged out and back in, I saw that Wise had debited my bank account three times the amount I intended to transfer. Instead of sending the money to the recipient, it was transferred to my Wise account. I called Wise, but the first person I spoke to was unhelpful. She kept repeating that the money couldn't be refunded because I hadn't called after the first failed attempt. I explained that the app only said "payment unsuccessful," so I thought it was fine to try again. She suggested I transfer the money back to my bank account, but I didn't think I should have to pay a fee for that since I had to transfer back to my account due to a glitch on the app. She also replied to convincing me to keep the money there to use to pay other things and I told her I don't need to make other transfers and I will not use it for other things since I can use my regular credt card and not pay transfer/transfer fees. I use Wise strictly for international transfers. She acknowledged that there was a glitch, which had since been resolved, but still refused to refund my money. When I asked to speak to a manager, she refused, saying there wasn't one available and that I should try calling later, but she couldn't guarantee I'd reach a manager. I hung up and called again. The second person I spoke to was more helpful. Although I still could not talk with a manager she escalated the issue and also asked if I had tried transferring the money back to my account. I told her I hadn't, and I explained why. While she put me on hold, I tried transferring again, as the previous agent said the glitch was fixed. Once more, the money was transferred to my Wise account, and I got the same "payment unsuccessful" message. At this point, while still one the phone, I decided to transfer the money back to my bank account since I'd already been charged four times the amount I wanted to transfer. I planned to request a refund for the fee, as this whole situation was due to their glitch. However, when I tried to transfer the money back, I kept getting stuck on the screen asking me to review the transaction. My money is now stuck in my Wise account with a "sending pending" status, and I can't complete the transaction. The second agent said it would be resolved in 1-2 business days, but all I received was an email saying it could take up to 14 business days to resolve. The money has already been taken from my bank account, so why is it so hard for them to issue a refund when they know there was a glitch? I’ve opened a dispute with my bank. This entire situation is incredibly frustrating. Thankfully, the amount isn't too large, but the fact that my money is stuck in their account is infuriating. After reading other reviews from people who experienced similar issues and were told repeatedly that their problem would be resolved in a few days, only to wait for months. I've decided I’ll no longer use Wise. See screenshots.
Pros:
How fast it is when it worked. I can't see other pros.
Cons:
Will freeze hot money for no reason. The customer support is not helpful. Can't speak to a manager when you ha e issues.
Alternatives Considered:
A good option (and better alternate than Payoneer) for transferring money/payments
Comments: Overall use has been good. Its crypto policy is not good and they will close your account (without warning) if you use it for cyrptocurrency payments
Pros:
It allows many countries that others don't. The rates are decent
Cons:
Sometimes the costs are higher, and some countries have limited support
Fast, Seamless, Secure
Comments: Wise for personal is very good... and great! Wise for Business is superb!!
Pros:
Not 1, but several!! Its a fluid and well integrated system. Sending and Receiving money is very quick. The app is secure, the system sends 2FA, their card never fails, the virtual cards are a great feature! Jars is such a good idea and now we have another gimmick! "Invest"
Cons:
Its asks to load money before we're able to see accounts. So this is an extra step which wasn't there before. Not sure why they added but as long as conversion from one currency to another is allowed, i'm game - but otherwise it seems like 'not a nice thing to do, you know'
Fast, Easy to use, Great Rate for transferring money between currencies and countries.
Comments: Easy UI/UX, first payment I was a bit skeptical so i only transferred $20. Once it went through in a week I transferred more. Now it is my go-to more than Paypal for personal transfers.
Pros:
It is simple to use. Once I have transferred once, it becomes just few clicks to transfer money between bank accounts internationally. What I really like though is it has the best rate. Even better than Paypal. No more carrying cash or cheque aboard. You can transfer money via deposit, bill payment, e-interact and you just pick whichever one you feel the safest and best fit your banking needs.
Cons:
Nothing really. Best rate, lowest fees, fast (usually less than 5 business days), it is great for personal transactions. I guess the only downside is people doesn't know WISE as much as PayPal yet, so I'm to learn if WISE has a business side of things to secure payment from clients internationally.
Payment always on time!
Pros:
That you get to pay a minimal charge and your recipient gets the payment instantly with almost 0 down time.
Cons:
I can't think of any. Most of the features match what I need.
Essential tool for my international freelance business
Pros:
I like that I can easily transfer to a variety of different currencies around the world. I appreciate the flexibility of having everything in one place
Cons:
It's consider a digital bank and so not all organizations will accept it for automatic payments
Cheap and quick money transfer
Pros:
Easy to transfer money to other Wise users or bank accounts.
Cons:
More expensive than revolut for money exchanges.
Wise, My Dreamable Digital Bank,
Comments:
Nowadays my business is totally dependent on the wise. Because currently, I'm using the wise account to get payment from my international client in USD format.
No, if we talk about my overall experience with the wise bank account is, then it was appreciable. And I'm fully satisfied with the wise. And hope so that I will continue to keep using the wise for a lifetime.
Pros:
I have enjoyed the a lot the multi currency feature if wise. I am using local currency format and USD currency in wise. I use to receives the Internation payment in USD format. There is also the option of several bank account balances e.g USD, GBP, and my local currency PKR. I can also receive money using GBP format as well as USD. The Thing that I have liked too much in wise is transfer to our local bank account. And the amount will be transferred to your bank account within 30 minutes. I have made a lot of transactions for transferring my money from a wise USD balance to my local bank account and I'm very satisfied with this. Mobile access to a wise account is also a very smart and cool process. I have installed the wise application on my android. And I am glad to share that the application of wise is Fingerprint supported, Mean that there is no need of typing our password again and again. I can easily access my account through android just by using a fingerprint scan. Managing payment through the mobile application is the same as we do through the web. I have not faced any type of lag problem or any type of security issue while using the android application of wise.
Cons:
Well, there is too much to experience in wise, But I have some suggestion for the wise team to introduce some improvements. First of all, the Multi-currency option of wise is very appreciable, But there is a charge of 20$ for getting USD bank account details. Although the charge will be credited to our wise bank account, but we have to pay for once. I have a lot of friends that are unable t use wisely just because they are not having a visa or MasterCard for making a transaction too wise. And they are not eligible to get bank account details without depositing 20$. That's why I had liked to discuss this issue with the wise team , and my honest suggestion is to remove this charge . Although you can ask for a legal documents for human verification or may ask for local bank account details but I would like that this charge should be removed completely and getting any bank account details inside-wise should be completely free of cost. So that any student can use the Wise account for freelancing purposes and to receive payment from clients.
Disappointed
Comments: I have used Wise (fromelly Transfer wise) for many years with no serious issues but not good at all lately.
Pros:
Ease of sending funds if you are not asked for verification, if you are then 9 days plus.
Cons:
Customer support is non-existant. I have sent funds to a client 9 days ago and the funds have been withdrawn from my account but not reached the recipient. In my business, regular payments to clients are critical and after launching many support tickets I keep getting the following reply: "I can see we are still waiting for our team to verify your documents. I will reach our to them to get an update." Despite stating on the transfer voucher that it may take 1-2 days to verify the information they have asked for it has now been 9 days and I am still sending e mails to Wise and raising support tickets. Latest message is: "We’re sorry for the delay in your verification. We’re experiencing a large volume of businesses onboarding now, so this is taking a little longer than expected. Our verification team is working hard to review all businesses as quickly as possible. Businesses are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. It can take anywhere from 5-7 working days." Quite pathetic really if it takes 9 days and the transfer has not gone through !
Excellent Service for the price
Comments: Overall, I am happy with the platform. Wise allows me to set up my clients and my contractors, invoice my clients, pay my contractors, and keep a running record of all transactions.
Pros:
Wise is a very user-friendly platform. It is simple to set up and use, and even their trial version/free version allows companies to customize their invoices.
Cons:
Customer service can be limited. Their hours are not 24/7 and they don't jump on live calls with you. They only converse via a live chat, and most of their support is just redirecting you to content to read. Business owners don't have time to read an article whenever they have an issue. They need an expert to walk them through their issue and solve it.
Unreliable and a big hassle to get your money back
Pros:
Nothing. The hassle I had with them to re-activate my account and get my money back was so big that I can not think of anything positive anymore.
Cons:
Without valid reasons Wise closed our business and personal accounts. The result was that I could not access our accounts anymore and it took me more than 6 months and lots of emails to get the money from my balances back. Because I could/can not access the accounts I am not sure if they refunded me everything.
Fast and easy to use!
Comments: I'm very pleased I discovered Wise. I loose less money in fees now and transfers are much faster than with my local bank.
Pros:
I'm in France but my customers are mostly in the UK and US. Wise is the best bank I have found to get paid quicky and with the best conversion rates. It is incredibly fast and I can transfer money to my French bank account instantly. Everything can be done from the app which is great! It is also very convenient to travel abroad.
Cons:
I have had no problems so far when using it.
Customer Service is the worse
Comments: this is the worst system for customer service I have ever seen in my life
Pros:
they don't take too much money when you make a transfer in Ukraine
Cons:
customer service is the worse I have ever seen in my entire life of IT
Misapplication of the sanction law
Comments: This financial service banned my transfer to a person residing in the city of Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. Their rationale was that, in their opinion, Zaporizhzhia is under sanctions. However, this is inaccurate. While the Zaporizhzhia oblast is partially occupied and the occupied areas are under sanctions, the city of Zaporizhzhia remains under governmental control. They have conflated these distinct situations. Despite providing them with numerous resources to clarify this, they have not reviewed them and now intend to restrict my account. This demonstrates a significant level of incompetence in the current political and legal situation.
Pros:
Fast transactions with other Wise account holders
Cons:
1. No customer care. 2. Incompetence in sanction legislation. 3. Customer support works slowly.
Great value
Comments: Its great, i have a personal and a company account and i trust them very much.
Pros:
I love that it is quick, and I can connect my accountant to it. And she just sees everything she needs to see, really cut down on admin time. I also love that I can search all currencies - rev.lut only allows searcing one at a time. I enjoy their virtual cards, for these ecommerce heavy times. And the transfer times are unbeatable, from europe to south east asia in mintues. just wow.
Cons:
Funny thing: i load the site, and it doesn't answer for 15 minutes. So i have to pay attention to load it, authenticate it in the morning, so when i need to use it is ready to go. This i dislike. And i cannot use crypto. Maybe soon.
Feel safe, it is good value with instant reporting
Comments: Successful and happy for virtual transactions across the world
Pros:
I like the fact that it feels safe to use, the cost is extremely low and there is instant reporting when the transaction is complete or when there is a problem
Cons:
Hard to say because the irritating thing is when a transaction doesn't go through because the Payee's details don't match exactly - as this is also the most important safety feature so vital. Overall a benefit.
They dont have a good support desk
Comments: I am really disappointed hey. I have been begging for over a week and support just sends generic template responses and doesn't seem to realize not accessing my business bank account for over a week is absolutely a NO GO!
Pros:
It was easy to setup [So we thought] Its easy to pay other people who own a wise acc
Cons:
Support is unhelpful Cannot access business bank account without an OTP and they just ignore me Access is an issue
Excellent service
Comments:
This bank helped me at least 2 times to handle some big problems.
First of all I could open accounts with different currencies, all linked to the same card, and I handled a problem with a payment which I could not manage to receive for months with other banks! Now Wise has became the stable solution for these kind of payments.
Then I had a problem with some money stolen from my account because I mistake I did. Despite all, with a huge help from the customer service, I finally managed to recover that money, which seemed to be impossible to get back.
I'm really happy about my experience in Wise and I'd advice it to anyone!
Pros:
It's user friendly and if I have any problems I can count on an excellent customer service
Cons:
High commissions when withdraw money at the ATM
Definitely worth it to try!
Comments: I am very satisfied with this product and literally I've saved a lot of money by using this :)
Pros:
I mainly use this Wise for transferring money overseas from UK to Singapore. When I first came here 2 years ago, I couldn't find any easier and cheaper ways to transfer money overseas especially to Asian countries. I need to go to the bank just to transfer money which I couldn't do all the time as I'm a very busy person. I don't have much time for it. I looked up all possible ways to do it online.. most have high transferring fees . Then luckily, I read about Wise transfer from social media and I thought just give it a go...Boom! I can't believe the service is real bargain..they charge me only £4ish for the amount £500-1000. It's hassle free and secure. When you use with debit or credit cards, you'll get the money literally just within a few seconds. I've been using it for 2 years now and so far it didn't let me down.
Cons:
I'm afraid I don't have any single thing that I don't like much about it! I'll definitely continue using this software and recommend to others as well.
BEWARE OF WISE BUSINESS FEES AND DOCUMENT VERIFICATION.
Comments: Support team is lying 🤥 to me. I am sent proof of money that does not match my bank account funds.
Pros:
Nothing really is likeable. It is only about verification and fees.
Cons:
I hate that after my money was taken out of my account, I had to make accountant appointments costing me more money. Wise is suppose to transfer money affordability that is what I was expecting. I paid thousands more than a normal transfer for verification and transfer fees plus a fees to return my money back into my account.
Be Wise with sending money
Comments: Very satisfied. They provide efficient services at a great price point.
Pros:
Cost is the most common reason for choosing Wise over other payment platforms. Its fees are lower than any of the popular choices. Wise also has the trust reputation and fast transactions needed by any business receiving and sending funds. You really reap the benefits of the Wise network when you send or receive money across borders. This is where they excel. The fees are typically lower than 1% at times, and the funds are available in minutes.
Cons:
They require a "deposit" transaction so they verify the account. Aside from asking for national IDs, they need you to put money into your Wise account to trigger verification. Granted, this is only for signing up. If you are just receiving funds, you do not need a Wise account. You just need to send your bank account info to the Wise account user.
My Experience with Wise
Comments: I would highly recommend
Pros:
I love how you can set up multiple accounts in different countries Easy to send money Great for businesses and for personal use Low exchange rates
Cons:
I have not had any issues using this software.
