Great in-line AI and RAG Tool!

Comments: Great. Very responsive help and new features frequently

Pros:

In-line use of AI and use of “Super Brains” to allow query of your own content.

Cons:

Would be nice to easily select other LLMs

If they take away Elephas from me I will lose my job

Comments: In general, I'm ElephasDicto, I simply use it for everything. In fact, I wish I had more time to study the documentation in depth - I feel that no matter how hard I try I'll never be able to use all the functions. I may not have Google, but I don't have Elephas.

Pros:

I am biased when it comes to talking about Elephas; I use it for absolutely everything. From rewriting a text for me to reminding me of facts I didn't even remember (with Brain). However, the platform won me over the day I simply asked if there was a way to change the app to Portuguese-BR in the keyboard settings on the iPhone, and the developer said he would look into it. Magically, days later, without any announcements, he added the feature. This kind of support is extremely rare to see (and I've seen it several times on Discord). In fact, I used Elephas to translate this, haha!

Cons:

1) I miss the possibility of setting a single model for all responses in the default settings section. In fact, I am available to help.

Highly recommended

Pros:

Bring OpenAI power without copy-pasting text into Chatgpt. Since it's on the operating system level, it works on ANY app you use.

Cons:

Needs UX rework to simplify its usage "Brains" feature, where you can add your own files to chat with them, is very quirky and doesn't work most of the time.

I Speaketh My Truth, or How I Learned to Embrace A New Tool

Comments: Very good to excellent. I hate using tools that seem to add friction to my day and Elephas merged smoothly with my lack of routine and often scattershot approach to bringing concepts together. Has enough structure to keep me from getting a junk drawer, but not so much that I can't just jump in and jot down ideas and findings quickly. I like it and will keep using it

Pros:

Ease of use. I have tried several KMS apps, but I am keen on finding tools that adapt well to me rather than have me go through a learning curve. I also work across several fields (business, tech, non-profit development, start-ups, education, health, fiction writing, and a few more) and wanted a system that allowed me to quickly cross-connect without hiding things in folders and sub-folders festooned with tags. I'm not 100% up to speed on Elephas, it doesn't do everything I would want (its coffee-making skills are sorely lacking), but it has become a daily tool within a week of trying it. That's a win and I look forward to doing more with it

Cons:

It needs some templates for creative work, but I don't know if that's actually necessary or me trying to save time where it isn't possible. And maybe a little more "look-and-feel" customization, but that is far from a deal-breaker

Flexible AI tool with superb functionality

Comments: It's a great tool, one of the earliest AI related tools I bought. No regrets whatsoever.

Pros:

The Super Brain function is brilliant. It's my daily driver. Also, I can use chat with a local LLM, so everything stays local. And it can export the results directly into a Keynote presentation - if you have a ready presentation template, you can be set in 5 minutes.

Cons:

The UI wasn't the greatest until the updates done a while ago.

Powerful and easy to use AI assistant

Comments: I still consider myself a new user, but I have already had significant success in using it to prepare for meetings and even during meetings to refine existing chats and get information quickly. The application lends itself to immediate productive use without having to refer to user guides or tutorials. I have been able to be very productive from my first use and look forward to improving my expertise and proficiency.

Pros:

I like how easy it is to create specialized brains based on personal or professional files, documents, notes, and web pages in the application. I have personally created hundreds of reports over my career, and I can upload those and those of my colleagues to create a specialized brain. I also rely heavily on environmental codes and regulations, and now I can upload codes, ordinances, and regulations and get the specific answers I need with references to the relevant sections. This is a major time saver and game-changer for me.

Cons:

I have occasionally experienced large memory usage and have had to force quit and restart the app.

Elephas versatile, context aware AI tool

Comments: Ease of use, versatile customization, bug free

Pros:

Elephas is very easy to use and its very context aware on my mac. I just default to use it all the time. Not just like those software you install and then forget about, this one calls the necessity to be used in many default and custom ways.

Cons:

not much really anything to complain about!

A Deep Dive into Elephas

Comments: It has an ability to manage documents, retrieve data accurately, and has flexibility to handle various file types to its offline mode for privacy.

Pros:

King of AI clients

Comments: I've tried pretty much every local AI client on my Mac, but Elephas may be the best. Really centres on building knowledge bases (aka 'Brains') which is a common use case I have. Also provides all the other tools you'd expect (chat, text replacement, personas/tones etc).

Pros:

Makes RAG and local knowledge base creation very easy!

Cons:

A few UI quirks but overall it's a solid experience.

Native mac app with your own custom AI

Comments: Responsive developer and frequent updates. Happy so far, even though I'm only utilizing a small set of features.

Pros:

It makes text processing with AI anywhere on your Mac or iPhone using your own styles and custom trained models so easy.

Cons:

Learning curve is steep, and UI could use a polish.

Essential tool

Pros:

Very flexible. I use it daily for numerous tasks including work, education, and personal life.

Cons:

Has a slight learning curve. A lot of functionality for a little program.

Love the super brain and snippets

Pros:

Being able to create snippets that I can invoke, and also the super brain

Cons:

It’s not the most polished, and synching across devices doesn’t fully work as one would expect. But I’m sure they will improve it.

Comments: Intrigued by the advantages of using AI. Saw this company came highly rated and gave it a try. One morning I was having difficulty only to receive an immediate response via email to set up a zoom to fix my issues. Minutes later the [sensitive content hidden] of the company was helping me. This alone sold me on the product.

Pros:

Grammar check and re write. Hopefully I'll figure out a way to use the other features as I LOVE the grammar check.

Cons:

Cannot blame Elephas as my technical skills are lacking

Elephas Saves me time as I set up my new business.

Comments: I have found it to be one gf the key success factors for my new business.

Pros:

The capability to handle more contact, deal with more emails and refine my content has been a real help for me as I set up my new company. It is intuitive and learns as it goes.

Cons:

Presentation mode is light at the moment and the ability to import current presentations to make better ones would be an improvement.

Worth exploring

Comments: A little raw, but still a unique product that I'm sure others will imitate.

Pros:

There are loads of AI app cropping up now - the unique feature of Elephas is the "super-brain" - that it can store your documents for querying, rather than needing to upload them one by one each time you want to reference them.

Cons:

The user interface isn't quite as slick as I'd like it to be, I didn't love the constant hover pop-up over every application, but I'd expect this will be refined over time.

One of the best AI tools for text writing

Comments: It was amazing. Nothing to say. Maybe a cheaper plan so I can build more brains :)

Pros:

The rewriting tools are amazing. It helped me a lot on my essay.

Cons:

Sometimes if freezes on it's first open.

Best swiss army knife

Comments: I had it set up in minutes - and it has been helpful ever since. Additionally it's getting better daily.

Pros:

Usability, easy setup, availability, flexibility

Cons:

Use on Mac only, Interface sometimes complicated

Super Brain is Awesome

Pros:

The ability to train an AI on user selected documents saved me hours every week on redundant work and allowed me to focus more on patient care.

Cons:

the chat box is not as great as I hoped it to be. I would refer the team to Notion AI or Reflect AI for select to highlight chat functionality.

One of my most used tools

Comments: Elephas is best thought of as a force-multiplier for productivity tasks which is a unique application of GPT3/4 which is enabled by its deep integration into macOS.

Pros:

Elephas is an incredibly useful tool. It is built into macOS, making it very easy to integrate into existing workflows. It also provides a great chatbot front-end for chatgpt, making it a great way to automate tasks and streamline communication.

Cons:

Elephas is a great tool, but it could use some improvements. The lack of an auto-update mechanism is a bit of a letdown, and the UI could use a bit more polish.

A powerful assistant!

Pros:

I love that it’s embedded deeply into all my macOS apps. There are several powerful browser plugins but the only work in the browser. Elephas works in every app I use on my Mac!

Cons:

The learning curve was a bit steeper than I expected. Not necessarily the software learning curve but the learning curve to properly prompt and use AI in general. I watched several videos and tutorials to learn how to prompt more effectively and it made a huge difference. To make the most of this app, take the time to really learn how to use prompts and how to chat with AI.

A must app to have on you Mac

Comments: Easy to use, fast, regular updates, fast support. It's changing the way I work

Really great entry to AI-assisted writing

Comments: I've saved days, if not weeks of my time.

Pros:

It's a native app, so I'm able to use it across everything, not just in a browser tab. The cost was reasonable, and not based on a subscription. I liked that.

Cons:

It was a bit of a steep learning curve at first, but now that I understand it better, I use it more frequently.
