About Netwrix Auditor
Keep tabs on user activity and configurations in your on-premises and cloud-based IT systems.
Allows you to setup email notifications to help keep your network and infrastructure secure.
I also wish it was installed without a web component that I need to worry about patching.

For admins only - but powerful if you know how to use it
Comments: It was a steep learning curve to configure and initially use. There was good help from customer service but still quite painful. But it is usefull and required now that it is up and running.
Pros:
IT's very powerful. It adds so much usefull functionality to the existing windows auditing that it can really manage the servers/office3365 ect well form a security/compliance/auditing point of view.
Cons:
It's difficult to configure. It can be offputting to those who are not technical. Not really for smaller businesses.
Easy to Use
Pros:
The ability to get daily reports that are easy to read. When conducting search, there is no learning curve, you can simply use the software without needing prior exposure or training on it. The reports are very detail and concise. The daily email reports are great because you can see the health of your critical systems, a report of any group policy changes, SharePoint changes, file changes, etc. This makes audit and compliance a breeze and help with incident management.
Cons:
Some logon reports can be difficult to comprehend especially when doing an ad hoc report of a logon activity of an account.
Netwrix Review
Pros:
The integrations, and the reporting. The information provided was helpful.
Cons:
The slowness of the system, constant issues with configuration and unsure if it is 100% set up correctly.
Netwrix makes life simple for large Networks
Comments: Our over all experience with Netwrix has been positive and and we have found it to be a useful tool in our IT toolbox.
Pros:
Netwrix Auditor allows us to keep a better eye on our growing network and how our users utilize our resources.
Cons:
Searching through the data in Netwrix can be daunting until you learn the best way to formulate your queries.
Alternatives Considered:
Cost efficient and gets the same job done
Pros:
Easy to setup, use, and administrate. Cheaper than competitors and plenty of tie-in products offered.
Cons:
Could be a bit quicker - despite plenty of resources assigned, it can be a bit slow to run searches. I wish there was some capability to deduplicate alerts / get alerts on real-time abnormal activites.
Meets and exceeds our needs
Comments: It's been very positive overall. We are looking at other Netwrix products as well.
Pros:
This fits our need for CMMC compliance. It helps us be proactive at a much higher level.
Cons:
There can be a delay in getting an alert.
A Powerful Tool for Customizable Reporting
Comments: Netwrix Auditor has been an invaluable tool in our cybersecurity efforts. The customizable reports allow us to tailor our monitoring and auditing to meet our specific needs. While the user interface can be a bit overwhelming at first, the functionality and insights it provides are well worth the learning curve.
Pros:
the ability to customize all the reports
Cons:
The user interface can be a bit overwhelming at first.
VP of Information Services
Comments: As mentioned above, Netwrix does what it is advertised to do. It works well and is reliable. I'd like to see mSA integrated for easier manageability.
Pros:
Netwrix Auditor does what it is supposed to do. It works as advertised.
Cons:
I would very much like to see Netwrix Auditor be able to run as a service that is compatible with managed service accounts in Windows so it supports rolling strong passwords that don't have to be maintained by the IT staff.
netwrix: ally that adds to zero trust
Comments: In general, it is an excellent tool for monitoring within IT, adding to our zero trust concepts, including supervision of rdp connections, monitoring of sql instructions in critical databases and access and use of user files
Pros:
I really liked the recordings of the rdp sessions because they allow us to see the actions that are carried out through them
Cons:
At the beginning you have to understand its way of use to be able to create WHO, WHEN, WHERE and ACCESS searches.
Netwrix Auditor
Comments: Overall experience has been great. Using it led to deeper dives into certain aspects of our domain that needed extra security features or tightened control.
Pros:
The predefined reports that are provided and the simplistic dashboard.
Cons:
A lot of the times it says users have failed logins attempts or read attempts, but when you click to see when or where it's coming from it says there is no data, after it says the opposite on the prior page.
A must have product if you want to audit your internal Active Directory environment
Comments: Very good. I recommend this to anyone who needs to use tools to stay compliant with industry regulations.
Pros:
Integration with the Microsoft Active Directory and other products like IIS, SQL Server.
Cons:
Price and renewals can cause budget issues
Helped satisfy audit requirements
Pros:
Easy to setup. Once it is setup and the notifications and reports are created (most of which are already there, just needed customizing) its pretty much set and forget it. Reports show up regularly and accurately.
Cons:
For what i have used it for, I really didn't have any issues to complain about.
Powerful Auditing for Enhanced Security

Improved Security Posture: Helps identify and address security risks proactively. Scalability: Supports large and complex IT environments. User-Friendly Interface: Offers a web-based interface for easy access and management.
Cons:
Cost: Can be expensive for smaller organizations. Complexity: Initial setup and configuration require some technical expertise. Resource Consumption: Can be resource-intensive, especially for large deployments.
great value
Comments: been using it for awhile and getting more experienced with it. plan on continuing to use it and grow with it and maybe some integrated products as well
Pros:
- it works pretty much out of the box - the UI / Dashboard is concise - drilling down into more details is straight forward
Cons:
- the necessary auditing/features for particular plans/reports isn't altogether explicit
Netwrix Review
Pros:
The Reports we get every day for our monitoring plans
Cons:
Some monitoring plans won't work or you need to do a workaround to make it to work.
Netwrix auditor user
Pros:
Reporting features and functions of the reports
Cons:
Ran out of disk space and memory and slow
Easily helped us with a cyber incident to show nothing was accessed
Comments: Very good support in getting it setup and having several walkthroughs by Netwrix support professionals to get you comfortable with the software.
Pros:
Once you have it setup, it works flawlessly and can give deep insight into the activities of employees.
Cons:
Reports can be a little confusing as to the structure and figuring out how to get the best data you are looking for. The biggest issue I have is it shows available reports from non-licensed Netwrix applications.

Pros:
Ability to track and record the users' logon activities, AD objects changes, and file access. I also like the reporting feature.

Need to deploy on-prem. It would be nice if they offered the cloud version.

Bit of a complicated setup in that it’s not intuitive in some areas. The user interface feels old but is functional.
