Great for a large range of businesses

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: Overall we are pleased with our Meraki purchase and installation. We used a system integrator to obtain it but looking back we could have saved some money doing it ourselves but the quick onboarding and initial setup by the integrator ensured we got running quickly

Pros:

Meraki is a cloud based product that controls on premises and remote hardware. The hardware is top of the line and includes all the functions you would expect from an exterprise offering. Given the broad number of options and the cloud based always updating nature of this product if fill many needs and be adopted by most organizations.

Cons:

Some of the navigation takes some getting used to and I wish it would flow more but there are so many features that building a fluid navigation gets tough, even for Cisco. The graphing could also be better and offer additional options when you need more details but generally it will fill most needs.

A good solution for SMB

4.0 last year

Comments: It's been good for the most part. It takes a while to find things as I came from a Cisco only shop but it is usable by people who have no network experience if you need someone like that to be able to vlan a port or something like that.

Pros:

It is easier to install and maintain than most similar products. You can easily establish vpn's between owned devices with dynamic ip addresses.

Cons:

Ran into an issue recently where you can not define access for Software VPN clients to networks that are vpn connected that are not Meraki.

Meraki, Good for medium tier businesses

3.0 5 months ago

Comments: Very solid overall, haven't had many complaints with them, end of the day it's Cisco and that at alone has large benefits and also similar downsides.

Pros:

Very easy to user interface and mobile ability is great.

Cons:

Like anything with Cisco it's expensive and this is the mid tier option for business users, if you want anything more specialized, you're going to have to pay up higher.

Cisco Meraki - The best solution for network management with a small team!

5.0 10 months ago

Comments: When we first began upgrading our outdated infrastructure, we decided on Meraki. As we continued from our MDF and worked our way out, the benefits of a full Meraki network became even more apparent. Our Meraki dashboard is our lifeline for knowing what is going on across our network from power outages to wireless health and bandwidth utilization. I love that we are also able to allow access to outside vendors and internal staff in a secure way with only the access the need and nothing more. The VPN client has allowed me to get my entire network up remotely after major power outages. I can't recommend Cisco Meraki enough for anybody who needs the flexibility and simple but secure anywhere/anytime access to their network. Cisco Meraki is a true enterprise level network solution that you can feel confident about deploying without having needing high level network engineering on staff or contract.

Pros:

Cisco Meraki allows us complete visibility into our network at all times. I can manage 95% of my network tasks from anywhere at any time. This has allowed us to keep network management in-house with a 3 person IT team for a large campus environment with almost 1,000 users daily. Adding new devices is simple and the support is immediate and on point. I do not have to wait for a response and escalation. The agent who responds first is the one who resolves the issue in a professional and friendly manner.

Cons:

The annual license renewal is costly. If you decide to co-term your licensing, it is not immediately obvious what the yearly licensing costs will be so it is important to consider this factor when forecasting your budget. For us, using Meraki offsets the cost of MSPs or another FTE for a network admin role so it is well worth the annual license costs to have the peace of mind that your network is always up to date and accessible to you from anywhere on any device.

A Must Have For Any Company

5.0 last year

Pros:

I can't say enough that I love at Meraki. The ease of use of the dashboard or being able to make multiple changes on multiple switches across any of the sites within an organization. It cuts down on management tasks immensely.

Cons:

I wish they had a blended consumer product that allowed tech savvy home users to be able to setup or protect their home networks without the annual licensing cost.

Cloud Base Dashboard Management

4.0 12 months ago

Pros:

Cisco meraki allowed us to deploy and management the network and security devices from cloud access portal easily for the implementation engineer. This is the most I like in cisco meraki.

Cons:

The cost of Cisco Meraki devices and license is too expensive for the most small business companies.

Efficient and powerful for managing, monitoring and administering wireless networks.

5.0 2 years ago

Comments: Cisco Meraki allowed us to efficiently manage and administer our access points that are distributed in strategic locations in the city from the cloud and without having to move to the site, now we can monitor and configure them from the central panel with ease, it allowed us to exercise total control over the network, restrict pages and limit bandwidth among others.

Pros:

Cisco Meraki offers a GUI that can be operated in a simple way, it is easy to implement, it is scalable which allows us to meet the needs of the company; it has excellent capabilities for monitoring, supervision and management of wireless networks in the cloud, does not require much technical knowledge for the initial configuration of the Access Point, with Cisco Meraki we can manage and configure securely and simplified way all from the central control panel regardless of location or time (we can distribute the bandwidth as we wish, by network name, page or IP among others).

Cons:

Functionally I have not found anything I dislike about Cisco Meraki, the only downside of Cisco Meraki is the high cost of licenses and equipment.

Network Configuration with a click of a button

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: We have managed. To reduce travelling cost where at times we would travel to remote offices for configurations. Now this can be done remotely. The organisation realised a lot of savings

Pros:

Meraki is easy to deploy and easy to configure. You can configure devices for different offices remotely. You can configure the devices even if the other devices are offline. You do not need to run commands. All configurations are done by click of a button. They can work as hybrid system working with non meraki devices

Cons:

The Meraki equipment usually takes long to be delivered. Cisco needs to increase production so that customers won't have to wait for ages for the equipment to be delivered.

Cisco Meraki is Intelligent Simplicity

5.0 4 years ago

Comments: It has been one of the best experience ever. Switching from Blue (Cisco Traditional) or any other vendor to Green (Cisco Meraki) has been seamless. But then again, it will depend on your context.

Pros:

The ease of deployment. You can be up and running (with policies defined) withing minutes!

Cons:

Once configured, the policies takes about a minute or too to be take effect. I believe this depends on your own internet connectivity as well. Also, the native windows vpn client is buggy but it has announced that Cisco Anyconnect Client will soon be compatible with Cisco Meraki VPN Services!

Meraki - Management at your Fingertips

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall, Cisco Meraki is a great company with some of the best products and services. I currently use their firewalls, switches, access points and system manager. When using all their products the user experience is excellent. The equipment and services are high quality but you will pay a premium to use them.

Pros:

Meraki Systems Manager is a cloud based management system that grants you the ability to manage devices within your network. You can see a lot of information about device use, manufacturer and connectivity. You can apply user policies and utilize Meraki’s built in Mobile Device Management. You can manage PC, Mac, Chromebook, iOS, Android and more!

Cons:

System Manager is a great tool and has great customer service, however Meraki licensing is pricey compared to other tools available.

Device to keep you work from home agents secure

Plenty of Features when they work

4.0 5 years ago

Comments: It gives us what we wanted from a MDM with a good price, functionality and features. Having it share the same management screens as our APs, routers and switches is a huge bonus in managing devices. But blacklisting of software seems to be the only consistently working part with software as deployment and whitelisting is not very reliable.

Pros:

It is very easy to setup and start using. It has a lot of functions that can you can see in more expensive products but all cloud based and managed. Having no on premise foot print is great and it has the same dashboard as our Meraki devices we manage. We do not need to switch to check or update the status of devices. This does device inventory and deployment of software. Can find where devices are and who is logged in to them.

Cons:

The MDM for managing the installation and whitelisting of software is poor. We would approve software for users but then when an update to the app happens we would need to approve the app again. We have used the setting to keep the app approved for all updates but it does not work. Force installing the software is not reliable at all.

A solid cloud network solution

4.0 3 years ago

Pros:

Ease of deployment, best ROI in its class. One config can be applied to all devices in any site. site to site VPN is just few clicks. wifi handling is great, very low hardware failures.

Cons:

Cannot integrate with Azure AD or ther AD providers for device auth. Limited protocol support for site to site vpn. client vpn connection setup is not clean , powershell required with admin access, else the anyconnect client with a license fee,

Easy to manage and deploy

4.0 3 years ago

Comments: Overall network managing is quite good. It's easy to setup new location. Cloud managment makes it easy to deploy and manage. Single pane of glass gives ability to see all location at one and we can make changes.
Due to price we limit use only to routers and AP co i can't comment on MDM, switches and other meraki products.

Pros:

It's ideal to many locations with often changing IP address. It makes managing very easy. We can basically send router not configured and it will connect to cloud and setup configuration very fast. Aut-VPN is great in cisco meraki. It just works.

Cons:

Price for convenience is very high. That's main thing that may discourage someone to purchase this product. Copying configuration to different router is bit tricky in UI.

Easiest to use network management

5.0 5 years ago

Comments: It does the Job, is powerful has several options, but is expensive and the web interface needs some work.

Pros:

In the company we have several of this Meraki Access Points, to add them to the account was easy and manage them were ok, it has a ton of options including Air Marshal to remove non authorized networks on your company.

Cons:

Adding whitelisted devices could be simpler sometimes I get confused and add the device twice since there was not feedback of the device being added, it just shows up once is connected to the network, that way you cannot see if it was added successfully, Is expensive compare to solutions from Fortinet, some companies went with them and have a great experience but paying less money.

Powerful product in combination with Meraki hardware

5.0 6 years ago

Comments: Overall a brilliant product and system, there is a reason we have been using the Meraki products for the past 8 years.

Pros:

The ability to remotely manager and monitor the network remotely has significantly cut down on support call outs and requests among our clients. Everything on the network is visible from the moment traffic hits the WAN to the clients machine. The tools for diagnosing and checking network issues are amazing. As well as the granularity of the information displayed to the ability to 'micro manage' the network.

Cons:

Not so much an issue with the software , but the cost of licenses and hardware can be pretty steep especially if you replace all the network devices.

Manage all your devices from one screen!

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: We can monitor many products from security to wireless range extenders and increase their continuity.

Pros:

It ends the need to use separate software for each product.

Cons:

Being dependent on Vendor affects costs.
