Acumatica a True ERP for the Construction Industry.

Comments: Acumatica has brought all the areas of our business together in one software which is allowing for an improved business decision making process.

Pros:

The integration of business functions are the most useful components of Acumatica, bringing our finance and project management functions together. The software is easy to implement when working with a Acumatica Partner on the implementation process. To date all features we require have been found in Acumatica other than Payroll which is going live in Q4 2023.

Cons:

In order to be able to provide the robust reporting and project tracking features it is important to enter information very accurately, the learning curve for new users can be steep.

Acumatica supporting my business

Comments: It is a wonderful system, flexible, easy to use, and it is wonderful to have all our data in one place and easy to find, export and analyze.

Pros:

One platform incorporating all our transactions directly into the accounting and reporting side, easy to use

Cons:

The fact that the timecards do not have a separate module to close financial periods with but are included in the AP module.

Could be better...

Comments: Overall experience sucks. I believe this is partially not Acu's fault. Don't use Kensium as a VAR, or IIG.

Pros:

Um, it mostly works. Allegedly it's totally customizable.

Cons:

Can't get basic financial statements. It's extremely spendy. Would prefer to be on NetSuite.

Beginning to See the Light

Comments: It has been a massive culture change and learning experience for us to change to Acumatica. We are slowly starting to reap the benefits, but it continues to be a long road

Pros:

The depth of coverage of business requirements is great, from CRM to Construction projects, to Services, which is our business, to Finance and HR all in one place for the cost

Cons:

There are a number of bugs and in particular we were living with and then we had to upgrade to the latest release and it has introduced some to functions that were previously working, particularly in the mobile app

The most self-customizable ERP we have seen

Comments: Acumatica is a good system but the ability to customize it allows us to make it exactly what we need. It took some time to learn how to adapt it to our needs but every day it gets better and better for us.

Pros:

We can customize the system in many different ways. Individual users can customize their screen and various reports on their screen. Without coding, we can customize many things, create new fields, etc. This flexibility allows us to make the system suit the way we do business.

Cons:

The price is a bit high for a small business to get started. I want to use some features offered in other modules but they are quite expensive to add those.

Best Modern Cloud ERP

Pros:

Actively listening to users, addressing common complaints or gaps in the product every single release. Licensing isn't per user. Useful, easy automation tools to streamline our order -> invoice process. Active community site.

Cons:

Release note system could use an overhaul- would like it to be easier to track changes, bug fixes, and known issues between releases.

Controller

Comments: It has been good. Reports are my only sore spot.

Pros:

User friendly. Ease of using. All around great product.

Cons:

Reports could be a little more user friendly and should be able to create new ones a little easier than we can at this time. Need to much support to create specialty reports. Sales tax reports should be a standard report for all companies.

Customizable to meet the needs of the HVAC Construction/Service Industry

Comments: We use Acumatica for Project Managment in construction, which I would say is the strongest part of this ERP platform. Linked to that we use the service module for scheduling service calls with our service technicians. Tied to both of these modules is inventory management and payroll. For the most part it has met the needs of each of these parts of our company.

Pros:

Acumatica is fairly simple to learn and is quite customizable to meet the needs of our HVAC construction/service industry.

Cons:

There are still some ways that it needs to improve in how the different modules work together. There are times where it is not that easy to follow the path between modules.

Growing ERP in it's Early Stages

Pros:

The ease of use and simplicity of the user interface. Very adaptable platform and has a growing API vendor list.

Cons:

Not as intuitive and lacks a large community database of support. There also aren't enough people trained to build out the architecture and a large dependence on 3rd party implementation/support.

Satisfied Customer

Pros:

Accounting team likes the ease of use, especially the real-time features. Also the customer service stellar.

Cons:

No known hiccups with the product. Accounting team utilizes it with ease.

Efficient financial management tool for construction companies

What I like about Acumatica is its flexibility and customization capabilities. This allows us to tailor our processes and workflows to fit our specific wants and needs. What I liked least about Acumatica Cloud ERP is that getting it set up was a bit of a headache. It took us quite a while to get everything configured the way we wanted, and we needed a lot of help from consultants. Plus, the system can be pretty overwhelming at first, and it took some time for our team to get the hang of it. We also ran into a few glitches and performance hiccups along the way, which was frustrating when we were just trying to keep things running smoothly.

Cons:

The pricing can be a bit costly for startups but the returns from its use are immense.

Acumatica for Project Management

Comments: Although it may not be the most user friendly on the project management side, it does great tying all things together (ie. payroll and administrative side) and has great functionality to be accessible from anywhere.

Pros:

It's great that all changes are live, it's accessible from anywhere and through an app, and can have multiple users and project simultaneously.

Cons:

It's not the most user friendly for project management with budgets and change orders, could have a more logical flow of steps.

If You Need A Good System, Try Quick Books. It Has Better Options Than Acumatica

Comments: The realization that we made a honorably mistake and should have selected a different system. And I fear that when we express our frustrations that they will kill off our service as they have expressed this directly to me in a veiled threat during one of our conference calls.

At this time...Nothing. Internally we call it Crapmatica.

Acumatica ERP software, in my experience, has been quite disappointing. It falls short in several areas, and I can't help but feel frustrated with its limitations. One major issue is the lack of basic reporting features right out of the box. Unlike other accounting software, there is no intuitive "drill down" function available anywhere in this ERP system. Instead, finding information requires a tedious search or running multiple reports on top of each other.What's worse is that certain essential reports are simply missing, forcing users to rely on costly implementation services to create custom reports. Even then, any necessary adjustments come with an additional financial burden. This lack of flexibility and the associated costs are significant drawbacks.The payroll system, a critical component of any ERP, is another letdown. Despite its high price tag, it fails to deliver reliable functionality. This can cause major disruptions to business operations and create unnecessary stress for users.Furthermore, when it comes to analyzing sales data and estimating costs and hours spent on a specific customer during the opportunity phase, Acumatica proves to be inadequate. The system lacks the necessary tools to input this information for opportunities, such as quotes or bids. This limitation severely hampers the ability to make informed business decisions.I could delve into more grievances, but it would only escalate my frustration. I do not recommend this system.

Comments: Overall, Acumatica has done very well for us.

Pros:

I like that it syncs well with Aspire. We love the reporting - our rep at High Touch helped greatly to set up the entire system and reports.

Cons:

The credit receipts from Aspire do not sync over to Acumatica. This should be rectified sooner rather than later. Also, writing reports is not easy; we used our rep at High Touch to write all the reports.

Pros:

Acumatica has really changed our business for the better. From sales order to inventory management we have full transparency which enables us to better serve our customers.

When updates go live customizations get turned off every time which causes issues within our business.

I like it because from one place I can control my finances, manage my projects and resources, manage inventories and purchase orders and much more.

Cons:

Well it still takes me a while to get familiar with all the features and settings. However, once you get used to it and get over the initial stage it's great.
