> Unfortunately, their Facebook campaign I responded to is illegal under Sec. 77 of Canada's Competiton Act in that it does NOT tell you that the promotion that they offer, which appears to be a very good deal, actually largely requires a further paid subscription, which is not as good of a deal at the price point; furthermore, the company will not honour requests for refund as per their "policy on digital products." 

While their offer does include a significant amount of Canva and other materials that does not require the use of their software, what is actually advertised--the web templates--are only usable on their platform and are not exportable. So the unnecessary vendor lock-in is what causes it to be illegal under the S. 77 Competition Act law on tied selling: 

The only materials that are usable without their $37 USD/month (on month-to-month plan) can be considered "accompanying materials, an adjunct to the main advertised product only," while the main product advertised at the $27 USD one-time price is only usable for two weeks without paying for a subscription. 

The accompanying materials, as an aside, are relatively superficial in content and are not unique enough to warrant being sold for the price that they are, as an add-on.

While the software itself is good, I cannot in any good conscience support the use of such a deceptive business practice and given that there are equally good free and open source alternatives, I cannot support it.
