Our Vrbo integration was not activated for weeks after onboarding, which caused double bookings. When it went live, our two properties were cross mapped to the wrong Vrbo listings, so every Vrbo reservation landed on the wrong unit. Because the correct unit's calendar never blocked, a guest walked into an occupied condo at 10 PM on another guest. That resulted in a refund, cancelled reservations, channel penalties, a restricted Vrbo listing, and legal threats. Support replied slowly, told us the mapping was a self service process, and stated there was no indication of financial loss while we were refunding money and cancelling bookings. > > We came to Lodgify from Guesty, where these same properties ran on these same channels without a single incident. The sales pitch promised improvements, including listing on Google Vacation Rentals. What we got instead was the worst operational failure in the history of our business. We refunded that guest, we are cancelling reservations to contain the damage, our Vrbo listing was placed in Restricted status, and we are dealing with legal exposure from the incident. The support experience was worse than the software failure. Replies took days. When we escalated, we were told the mapping is a self service process and that there was no indication of financial loss, while we were actively issuing refunds and cancelling bookings. Nobody has taken ownership of the problem. A channel manager has one core job: put the right reservation on the right property.
