The reports give me a much better idea of working hours, productivity patterns and how time is actually being spent. I particularly like being able to look at the information by employee or team and compare it over different periods. The dashboard is also much easier to use when I want a quick overview instead of going through individual activity records. Another thing I find useful is the schedule and productivity information. It helps me understand whether the actual working pattern is matching what was expected, which is useful when managing a remote or hybrid team. > > **Cons**: The main drawback for me is still the pricing. It is not the cheapest option if you are looking only for basic employee activity monitoring. ActivTrak has added quite a lot of analytics and productivity features, but that also means that some of the more advanced functionality is available only with the higher packages or add-ons. For a smaller business, I would prefer a little more flexibility in choosing only the features that I actually need. If you are going to use the reporting and productivity analytics regularly, though, I think the additional functionality makes the cost easier to justify. > > My experience with ActivTrak has remained positive, and I think the product has become much more useful since I first started using it. When I originally used it, my main requirement was to understand what was happening on employees' systems, especially when people started working remotely. Now I find the reporting and analytics more useful than simply looking at activity. The dashboards make it easier to spot something that needs attention without having to manually go through everyone's activity. I also like the direction ActivTrak is taking with workforce analytics and AI. The newer Work Advisor feature, for example, is designed to let managers ask questions about workforce data and get answers without manually analysing multiple reports. Overall, I would say ActivTrak has moved from being mainly an employee monitoring tool for me to being more of a workforce productivity and management tool. All they seem to care about is locking customers into auto renewal and charging for another full year, whether you are using the product or not. In my case, the business division using ActivTrak no longer existed, the service was no longer needed, and instead of working toward a reasonable resolution, they kept repeating the same contract language and avoided directly answering my questions. What frustrated me most was not just the invoice, it was the canned responses. I asked for the signed order form, the renewal details, and clear answers to specific billing questions. Instead, I got the same recycled explanation about notice periods. If you do business with ActivTrak, watch your renewal date very carefully, because once they renew you, do not expect much flexibility or a real conversation.
