This helped us big time with accuracy and speeding up the process. We also use those inventories to have Orca calculate our orders for us which has been impressively accurate. My favorite part is having a clear view of exactly what level of loss we're dealing with and which items are behind that loss. We reduced our beverage cost by an average of 4%-6.5% as the weeks go by. Things are only getting easier and more accurate. It's a lovely improvement so far. > > **Cons**: The worst part about any inventory tracking software is having to enter recipes (assuming you want to track loss). That being said, Orca's interface is the easiest I've used so far, making it relatively painless. That being said, data entry is still required to get things perfected initially. > > I was hesitant at first due to the change in my routine, but we also had some major problems with ordering and loss of control. My beverage costs were high, and I was under a lot of stress trying to figure out a way to fix everything. The \[sensitive content hidden\] eventually purchased Orca and put me in charge of setting everything up, getting trained, and teaching the rest of the bar staff. The process was actually a lot easier than I expected. I think this is due to the way the program is designed and our very helpful account manager. It's a way better experience working with the Orca manager than, say, a POS support office. Orca responds rather quickly, and we can schedule free training for any new staff. It's been over a year, and our costs are the best they've been since I started working here. Orca Inventory and Heartland POS lied to me about the integration capabilities, then tried to put blame on my companies and point a diversion of accountability. I forward anyone willing to use them, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] will lie to your face to make a sale. Since the implementation using their systems is a nightmare and caused more harm than being a tool to work not he business. In excess of 2 months from what was to be a seamless integration, I am now being informed I need to re-enter as if from the beginning within Orca. The goal is to never run out but also to not over-spend, so this could really help. > > **Cons**: The only thing that I found challenging and difficult to train was entering inventory items in the proper pack size for certain items. It is really important to do this correctly because if not programmed right, it will order incorrect amounts. The good thing is that you can test it to see if what you entered yields the right amount to order. > > We had a really hard time with inventory before Orca. This software allowed us to put in all of the intricate information needed for inventory, and give us proper ordering amounts. It took a while to get it set up, but it was definitely worth it.
