> **Pros**: When it wasn't being overrun with bugs, the register layout was decent.  I like being able to color code menu items.

> I own a summertime ice cream shop.  After 4 months of dealing with daily crashes, bugs, customer support that doesn't do anything except tell you to restart your system, did I mention crashes and bugs?, and never having the secure knowledge that this software was actually working, I'm happily ending my use of Talech software.  &#10;&#10;As I'm leaving, I wanted to get a report of all the items we sold in 4 months of being open for business.  Guess what?  You can't.  The Talech reports only allow you to look at 20 items at once.  This means, if you sell 5 t-shirts styles and there are 5 sizes for each style, you can't see one report of the t-shirts you sold yesterday.  Now, there is a workaround they'll tell you -- you "simply" click 20 items, save them to a spreadsheet, unclick those 20 items, click 20 new items, save them to a spreadsheet, unclick...  you get the point.  Did I mention that each time you click or unclick an item, it reloads your screen?  And when it reloads your screen, it seemingly randomizes the locations of your items.  So you can't even just go down the list of items sold clicking and unclicking, because the list changes constantly.&#10;&#10;This is a clear case of let's bring a product to market before it is ready.  And charge $50 a month.  For what?  For software that crashes every day (I'm not kidding -- every employee had to learn the protocol for dealing with the crashes) and won't give you the reports you need to run your business.  &#10;&#10;I didn't have any issues with Elavon.  I've been with them longer than Talech.  And yet, I'm so annoyed with the Talech software that I'm leaving Elavon as well.  Going to start fresh next season.

> **Cons**: Customer service is non existent. Tried for 2 1/2 months to get an answer regarding open tabs for my Talech system. NEVER got a call back from my rep. Then he told me his computer went down. Not sure why his phone did not work\! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN 40+ YEARS OF BUSINESS EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THEM\! YOU WILL NOT GET CALLS BACK AND THEY TRY TO SAY IT WAS AN ELAVON ISSUE\! ELAVON THROWS IT BACK ON TALECH. IT'S LIKE A DOG CHASING HIS TAIL. EVEN WHEN YOU REACH OUT TO MANAGEMENT, THEY DO NOT CALL BACK. BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME TO DEAL WITH\! RUN AWAY FROM THEM. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.....

> **Pros**: Used to be good before they updated the software and now it hasnt worked right in over a year and noone cares to help.

You cant even calculate your taxes for year end and I have been asking for this for a YEAR. Dont waste your time or money with these guys\!\!\!

> Unfortunately I was forced into using this system. From the moment I unboxed it, we’ve had nothing but problems.&#10;The initial set up was supposed to be plug \&amp; play. Not so. Our onboarding specialist failed to tell me we needed a minimum WiFi speed for the system to even work. No one could figure out why the system couldn’t communicate. After talking to 10 different reps we were finally able to get someone that asked about our internet speed. I ended up having to triple our speed just to be able to use the product.&#10;Reporting constantly glitches. I have to have our servers go through their cash vs credit cards tips nightly to make sure their end of night deposit is accurate. We’ve had it off by hundreds of dollars, which either costs the restaurant money or the server money depending on which way the deposit is off.&#10;For more than 6 months, during the busiest gift card time of the year, you could not sell more than one gift card per transaction. Talech didn’t seem to care about this issue but it cost my business thousands of dollars in lost revenue because of the glitch.&#10;Printers are constantly dropping offline, so you have to go reset them \&amp; enter them back in the back office on talech.&#10;Talech just updated their online reporting to a new experience. Problem is, the sales data doesn’t match the “classic” sales data. How can you have two different total sales figures just by switching between “classic” and “new”? &#10;Bottom line, if you’re thinking of switching to this as a restaurant POS, take my advice and DON’T DO IT. You will have more headaches than it’s worth, your financial data will be off, and half the time you won’t be able to sell a product because of some weird glitch in their system that they’re in no hurry to fix.
