Comments: Automation of reconciliation and reporting significantly reduces manual labor and minimizes the risk of errors.

Pros:

Excellent customer support ensures issues are resolved quickly. Comes with unlimited customization options which helps to meet specific business needs. Features like wide range of pre-built integrations and native connections other products makes it the ideal choice for sensitive data. Has a robust security and compliance dashboard.

Cons:

Sage 100 can be expensive for smaller teams. Also the lack of a free trial version limits users who would opt to test the product first before purchasing it.

Software is bad, service partner is worse.

Comments: outdated technology, lack of transparency, psuedo subscription without meaningful updates. Poor quality of the service partner network leaves much to be desired.

Pros:

the name of the software. But don't be fooled by that.

Cons:

On paper it has all the functionalities. In reality none of them works properly. You endup with countless customizations from a Sage partner and become very dependent on their partner. They are neither good nor cheap.

A Must for Any Accounting Department!

Comments: I use Sage 100 on a daily basis. When I got this job, it was my first time working in this program and I was a little intimidated, but once I sat down and started navigating through the different modules, I could see that it was not going to be a problem to use at all!

Pros:

It's very simple and straight forward and easy to use. It's not convoluted with a bunch of unnecessary features. It also has a lot of useful resources and help guides right there if you need them.

Cons:

I'm not sure of the ease of integration with other products. I think it was attempted but not followed through on.

At the start of using it was a bit complicated, but once the training commenced, it went well, we expected it to be easy to understand from the start, but we managed.

Comments: its easy enough to get through. a quick learn. it'll do the job day to day no problem.

Pros:

it is a very simple program to use. it really cant be dumbed downed enough. its a great starting point for a small business, as the company grows probably would want to upgrade

Cons:

certain options could just be better. Inventory look up, example looking up an item could be better, unless the description is spot on to find the part # the program wont broaden the search for you.

Excellent software for a small to midsize company

Comments: The integration to pVault, a paperless document management platform used to approve or reject A/P invoices, worked well but there would be errors for large batches. It was hard to determine where the problem lied and which platform to blame. Overall, a small sized construction or manufacturing company projecting growth to midsize in a few years.

Pros:

The simplicity of it. It has the capacity to do everything needed in accounting and easy to learn. Good for a small to midsize company.

Cons:

I wish the report parameters had more options to view data. I wish there was an option to increase the system font size.

Perfect software for any business

Pros:

I think the thing I like most is that fact that everything pertaining to the specific job is kept all together and easily accessible.

Cons:

When using job cost, only one person can access at a time unless we purchase another license, but its not a huge deal.

Easy to use software with a lot of accuracy

Comments: Financial reporting has been made easy with the software as I am able to generate budgets and financial reports with a lot of flexibility and accuracy. Invoicing is also efficient with the software.

Pros:

The software has an impressive capability for managing project costs. It ensures that the cost of a project is well taken care of through proper budgeting and tracking of project expenditure.

Cons:

I have nothing that I don't like about the software. Our accounting and financial needs are well taken care of by the software.

Best Accounting Software

Pros:

Used Sage 100 for over 10 years across 2 different businesses. It is the best overall Accounting software that I have used. It is highly customizable and offers all of the features necessary to successfully manage all aspects of our company.

Cons:

CRM integration would be the best addition that could be added to Sage 100. A single point of access rather than different software.

Sage 100c 2017 - 2019 review

Comments: Company replaced Platinum for DOS which had been in place for 20+ years. So moving to Sage 100c and having the ability to drill down into the data is a great feature. Being able to email invoices/purchase orders have improved the productivity of employees (they no longer have to go look for hard copies).

Pros:

First off is the User Define Fields (UDF), if a field is not in the software or you have something unique that needs to be captured, as an end user you can add the field without custom programming or use of a VAR. The next feature would be Visual Integrator (Import/Export utility), this feature is great for either uploading data into Sage or exporting data for analysis. Memo Fields are great! Paperless Office is great along with the ability to email invoices, purchase orders, etc. Sage Intelligence is a love/hate relationship: Very easy to build reports, but the runtime for running reports takes a long time (i.e. most of my reports 1-2 minutes) versus the standard Sage financial reports of 10-15 seconds.

Cons:

The Extended Description for inventory items. For the life of me, not sure why Sage still uses the Extended Description in inventory. This makes it very difficult for data imports or exports. If your company does drop shipments then really understand how it works. On the inventory side you end up with a black hole. Moving invoices from one batch to another is limited utility due to no one can be in the batch, so we end up moving invoices after hours. When running the Period End process for a module locks users out, so this normally has to be done during none business hours. Sage is weak in the inventory physical count area (i.e. cycle counting).

Comments: I work in the manufacturing industry, specifically a foundry in Chicago.
Several factors bias my experience with MAS90/Sage 100. I was introduced to the software with no training or reference guide because the woman before me left suddenly and without any documentation. In a certain perspective that speaks well of this product in that simply by internet research and experimentation, as well as a few call to our highly paid "Sage" support line, I have been able to work with the system adequately.
I would love to upgrade to a new version of this Sage product and imagine that it is very likely a much cleaner and straight forward operating system
For instance, the difference between reversing a check and simply reversing the G/L transaction are two different procedures and a third procedure to void a check that has never been issued is a different procedure entirely from voiding a check that you have placed a stop payment on. In a sense, these five distinctions would be ideal for a precise audit trail if the procedures themselves were not extremely complex and vague to distinguish.
The General Leger reports are clear and are in themselves user friendly in offering the opportunity to easily make accrued and adjusting entries.
I would certainly encourage anyone to investigate the newer versions of Sage in consideration of their industry specific needs.
We have not created a direct interface between our receivables data base "Exact" directly into MAS 90 due to the particular need to maintain specific Alloy/Customer information and our small company simply lacks the time and technical understanding to do so.
Again my situation is severely biased due to my particular circumstances and I believe a newer version of Sage may very likely be an excellent ERP.

Pros:

If I can figure out a highly antiquated version of their product without internal direction and assistance, I suspect the newer versions of Sage can only be fat superior.

Cons:

A complete mire of ambiguity when it comes to the Accounts Payable component in this ancient version by Sage:MAS 90

Great software for a small growing business

Comments: There have been some nice improvements in the 18 years we have been using Sage 100/MAS90. It is not cheap, but gets the job done. They must continue to use customer feedback to make the right improvements to the software and not change features users heavily rely on.

Pros:

Customer service has been great. They do everything they can to help resolve issues. Sage’s scalability has allowed the software to grow along with our needs. 3rd Party software works best if has partnered with Sage to get updates that allow for testing prior to a new update being released.

Cons:

It seems that along with some enhancements you get when upgrading, you may lose some functionality such as when printing travelers that now require more steps to complete. Custom reports and integrations can be costly because a Sage reseller is needed for support.

Many features, Poor execution

Comments: Many bells and whistles but too complicated for most users.

Pros:

The production management module helps us keep track of all inventoried products and our built product. It can be easy to use if you know what you are doing. Being able to have different dates used per module is useful when you are able to use them properly.

Cons:

There is a lot of background "stuff" that happens without you knowing. Also, unless you notice a discrepancy, the software will not tell you about it. We have had to rebuild the sort files in order to have the proper inventory show up. The software also gives errors often which requires you to redo the work you completed

Good program

Pros:

There seems to be a module for just about everything we need to within out company, which is very nice. It was pretty easy to learn with just a little bit of practice, much of it is self explanatory to new users! I do believe that ease of use is a major pro for Sage 100. I'm pleased with amount of data/reports we can process and print out, the information we need is almost always at our finger tips.

Cons:

With multiple people using this throughout our organization, it'd be nice if two people could be in the same module at once. We're constantly going door to door trying to figure out who's in a certain module and when they'll be out of it. We reference a pay rate change report often, every time we click out of it, it asks if we want to purge all the files. Someone will accidentally click it someday- why would we want to do that? I also find myself getting a number of errors and the program shutting down on me. Often times if I shut my computer down and try again it'll work correctly when I open it back up.

Comments: I have been able to access sage online from anywhere around the world and have instant access to my inventory and sales just a click away

Pros:

I really liked the way sage classifies their segments as icons so as to easily identity the functions that you are looking for. The Layout has been carefully thought to be both simple but quite professional.

Cons:

The software can become pricy as many features as only available as options which increases the cost of the operating software especially if you are a start-up company.

Sage 100cloud from a non-profit user

Comments: It has met all of our AP and AR needs.

Pros:

All the modules are located on the left side of the home screen. It may not seem like a big component; however, when you're wanting to go in and out-things it's a game changer. Some days, I have up to ten different windows in which I'm cross referencing. I can reconcile while looking at my AR and AP. Making entries and printing checks is a breeze. The steps are easy to follow and the tutorials are simple.

Cons:

Be sure to double check modules when updating software. We updated and quickly realized some modules hadn't carried over correctly. It was taken care of fast but could've caused problems down the road. It would be nice to have a checklist of when everything is being updated to see when changes did/didn't occur.

Comments: I've been using Sage 100 for more than twenty years and it's a great tool most of the time. Databases were improved module by module several years ago and that made a huge difference in stability and reliability. Work flow is consistent across modules. Once you understand Sage's way of managing workflow, it translates to other software modules, so there is less to learn.

Pros:

Full featured. Has what you need in most modules to run a typical company. Decent implementation of Paperless office. Print and linking PDF copies of most documents is great.

Cons:

Workflow can be frustrating or cryptic in rare cases. Implementation of paperless office, particularly for PDF invoices and uploaded documents is really good, but not great. Needs better inventory work order management. Basic integration is terrible, GREAT integration is too full featured. We need something in between. Just a basic Work order process that actually works.

Moderately ok ERP

Comments: Having been administrators for multiple ERP systems, I found Sage 100cloud to be an entry-level ERP system with limited functionality for a company our size. It might have been ok when they first started with this ERP system, but the technology was too old compared to other systems and common sense functionality was not applied (for example, to change a bin location in inventory, a warehouse person would have to access the inventory maintenance screen whereby they could change costs or pricing or more; bin location changes should occur as a transaction record outside of the inventory maintenance screen).

Pros:

Sage100c was relatively intuitive to use.

Cons:

Data integrity was an issue. Our VAR was excellent but even when they couldn't assist and I had to contact Sage direct for assistance, even they struggled to resolve the data issue (in one case it had to do with correcting average costs on an item held in multiple warehouses).

Easy and clear for your bookkeeping needs

Comments: I quite like the software and would recommend. I also use Quickbooks, but Sage suits me much better.

Pros:

Really easy to understand and get up and running. Simple workflows and very easy to see the underlying transactions . Adjustments and corrections are a breeze.

Cons:

Only issue I have is with electronic file transfers for payments to my bank. Sage keeps sequential files numbers for each of the different payment types (eg. Payroll and Suppliers), but my bank requires the numbers to be sequential overall. Each time I have to adjust the file number to the proper number so my bank does not reject it. Online support and training material is adequate, but if you need a real person support is limited - hard to get any response and often need to pay.
