Great Point of Sale payment processor for Small Companies

5.0 3 years ago

Comments: Great product for going to trade shows and selling products there remotely and when they don't buy from the website. It is quick to make an amount they need to pay.

Pros:

I like that I only had to pay for the unit that hooks to my phone and then there is no monthly fee unless I need more features.

Cons:

No way to take a payment without or with bad internet and then hold for later until there is service.

Clover has been a breeze!

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: When setting up our clover account, we had minimal issues. The customer service team is always responsive and quick to answer any questions we may have. Our rates are phenomenal - the lowest rate % we have been able to find! Everything you need is right on your clover device - inventory, prices, adding disounts, receipts.... SUPER SIMPLE!

Pros:

I really enjoy using Clover because its EASY! The card processing steps are so simple and the machine is smooth to navigate!

Cons:

I have zero negative comments about Clover.

Wouldn't suggest clover

1.0 6 months ago

Comments: Terrible and the customer service is not great.

Pros:

I did not like anything about clover and wouldn't suggest it to anyone.

Cons:

Customer service and the communication was terrible always. The machines were always loosing power and shutting off regardless of being charged. Had to get that fixed twice. They switched my business name on file and my clients thought there was fraud with their transactions. That never got resolved before leaving. They never apologized for the mistake on their end. I had to call consistently telling them I sent the cancellation form as I was getting emails everyday to cancel when I had sent it out 4 times. Finally called and admitted they received it but hadn't gotten back to me. I'm also passed my 5 year contract and they harass to pay $500 .

No integrity - from 5 stars to 1 star

4.0 9 months ago

Comments: I joined CloverConnect in 2022 and was excited to use their services. I had a decent experience up until Jan 2024 when I was charged an annual "security fee" of $215. When I received the payment notification email (that I receive monthly when they collect their fees), I was shocked at the amount and called customer service. They informed me that there was an announcement about this upcoming fee in my November 2023 statement. I never knew I got a statement let alone how to find it in my dashboard. They told me how to find it and sure enough, in a small print paragraph, there was information about this change. I asked why I wasn't emailed about this - emailing an announcement about a change is standard procedure. No response. Despite talking to multiple agents and a manager about how, at the minimum, I should have been notified via email of this change, CloverConnect said it was my responsibility to look at my statements each month. My response is that I don't need to look at the statement when I'm receiving emails on each transaction and an email about the monthly fees taken. CloverConnect would not refund the $215. I asked for my Merchant agreement multiple times - never got one sent to me. I scoured their websites for information on this annual fee - it is not documented anywhere. I emailed Support asking for info - no response. Meanwhile, I was receiving emails from other Businesses I work with notifying me of their updated Terms, etc. I just received another one today which reminded me that I wanted to write this review! CloverConnect made a poor decision and lost a (previously) happy customer. They exhibit zero communication with their merchants, zero ability to resolve conflict, and most importantly, they lack integrity. I chose to cancel them (and lose the $215) because I cannot be in Business with a company that doesn't have integrity, doesn't communicate major decisions that affect me (their merchant), and places the blame on me for not reading my monthly statement.

Pros:

Ease of set-up and use, monthly fees, and it integrated with Book Like A Boss booking software.

Cons:

Support was a bit slow to respond to issues. CloverConnect does not communicate via email regarding important changes that affect the merchants. CloverConnect lacks integrity.

not recommend it

4.0 6 months ago

Comments: the overall experience was marred by high fees and poor customer service. The setup was smooth initially, but the customer service was slow and unhelpful. I was not adequately informed about charges, and I had to make three calls to speak with the right agent to resolve the issue and cancel the service.

Pros:

Honestly that I do not have like most about clover... I have a bad Experience ..

Cons:

at least is simple and simple.. however there are better one Than this.. I would not recommend it

Small Business’: Stay Away from clover financing

2.0 8 months ago

Comments: Good customer service overall but terrible company for small business financing with interesting unusual policies to see offers of financing when they won’t even give a preapproved or estimated amount,

Pros:

The interface and clover debit terminals.

Cons:

Clover makes illegitimate offers to clients for financing as cash advance. But when it actually come does to seeing a potential amount you can get they waste your time by requesting you pay off any outstanding amount with other creditors. I understand not having two loans at once but baiting customers into demanding they pay off a loan before even seeing a potential amount could leave them in a deficit, leaving the client with no other option but to take there offer either good or bad. This is bad and dangerous for small business’ so be warned. Stay far away from clover financing as it could be detrimental to small business’.

Great Payment Processing System

5.0 5 months ago

Comments: We use the clover terminals directly in office and team members who work remotely are able to process payments directly over the phone using the virtual terminals.

Pros:

We're able to easily process our transactions through the terminals as well as remotely online.

Cons:

The product is fantastic. The only thing I wish was that the processing terminal was the first page that opened up.

Easy to use for home visit professionals

5.0 3 months ago

Comments: I utilized Clover and the CloverGo app to manage card payments in my chiropractic office and for home visits.

Pros:

Ease of use within the app, the device was convenient as well (small size, easy to sync with phone).

Cons:

Difficult to track payments to apply in another program unless details were manually added into the notes on the payment prior to it being processed.

Clover business owners insights

4.0 2 months ago

Comments: Furthermore using clover is very helpful when it comes to taking payments from small to large businesses, user friendly, cloud based, you can give certain rights to your users.

Pros:

Clover is very user friendly, they have different hardware options they can operate from and cloud based system.

Cons:

The only cons I would have about Clover is that they could be high price, they have sometimes system crashes, it can take offline payments, but some they may require internet connection

Do not use Clover if you own a salon/spa/massage business ! Absolutely awful

1.0 last year

Comments: I can not believe the absolute horrible customer service. No call backs, no answers, no help what so ever! I can't use the program in the most critical time of business. (right before Christmas) I am just blown away at how awful and time consuming this has become. It is literally slowly destroying my business.

Pros:

When we first contacted clover we had two specialists. Both of which helped set everything up in a super easy process.

Cons:

After about 4 months, both of the people that we had contact with either left, or were fired. We have not received any help from customer service since.

The excess fees that Clover charges

1.0 11 months ago

Comments: I didn't care for the system due to the unfair charges my customers received.

Pros:

The ease of use of the online pos systems.

Cons:

That they changed my customers extra fees for using a credit or debit card. On top of what I was already paying them monthly.

Clover: Not as reliable as before the switch.

1.0 last year

Comments: They've nearly put us out of business due to the migration from payeezy to clover. The most frustrating part was the fact that the representatives from clover acted like it's just par for the course and that we should just accept it.

Pros:

Our bank migrated from Payeezy to Clover. The migration was easy and was done without our input.

Cons:

Our bank migrated from Payeezy to Clover. The migration did not migrate all of the previously existing credit cards into the clover account causing over half of our recurring payments to fail the next month.

Versatility

4.0 5 months ago

Comments: The Clover POS system provides a comprehensive and flexible solution for managing various business operations. Its user-friendly interface and extensive customization options allow businesses to tailor the system to their specific needs. However, users may find the overall cost to be relatively high, especially when considering hardware, software, and transaction fees. Despite this, the system's robust features, such as inventory management, sales reporting, and customer engagement tools, make it a powerful choice for many businesses looking for an integrated point-of-sale solution.

Pros:

One of the standout features of the Clover POS system is its versatility. The Clover system offers a range of hardware options and a customizable software platform that can be tailored to fit the specific needs of various types of businesses, from retail to restaurants. This flexibility allows businesses to manage sales, inventory, and customer relationships efficiently, all from a single integrated system.

Cons:

One drawback of the Clover POS system is its cost structure. While the system offers a range of features and customization options, it can become expensive, particularly with the additional costs for hardware, software, and transaction fees. This can be a barrier for smaller businesses or those with tight budgets.

HORRENDOUS customer service, over and over

1.0 8 months ago

Comments: TERRIBLE. DO NOT PURCHASE WITH CLOVER. criminals.

Pros:

Zero. Being bombarded with negative reviews from customers due to ongoing issues with refunds

Cons:

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have had customers harassing me regarding refunds that were promised WEEKS ago. I have called numerous times and it's always a different excuse... "we need more internal information", "we have no record of your call" - despite having reference numbers and names of each person I spoke to. I have paid an arm and a leg for my store system and in monthly fees. I regret it entirely. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Comments: Very positive. Employees ive spoken too where nice. It was easy to add extra processors.

Pros:

It is very hard to find anybody that will want to work with a second amendment business. I was suggested Clover and was doubtful. When I contacted them they were extremely nice and told me they were all in on providing for a second amendment community! Setup was a breeze and ive never had a issue with them!

Find another option. You have been warned.

1.0 last year

Comments: Absolutely terrible. They will tell you anything to get your business but then when there’s a problem, they are nowhere to be found. Do not do business with these guys if you are in the southwest, or California. Trust me. Don’t make them the same mistake I did.

Pros:

I like the ability to send credit card invoices directly to clients that are encrypted.

Cons:

These guys cannot be trusted. My dollar volume is close to $1 million a year and my average sale was between $2500 and $5000. I do tax consulting. When Clover suspects anything on your account, they will hold your money. They will also take their fees out of your account without paying you. I have had $90,000 on hold for Eight days so far. Clover is unresponsive, they don’t give me a timeframe of what’s happening, or anybody to talk to. My rep is in Arizona, and California, and I would avoid her like the plague.

Avoid like the plague

1.0 last year

Cons:

Awful customer service. Regularly increase prices, sign you into new lease periods without your knowledge. Advised to send an email to give 30 days notice, only to be told they need a signature. They want £480 in terminal lease costs despite my lease finishing in July 2023 (I signed an 18 month lease in February 2022) Worst card service provider I have used in 15 years of business. Next day terminal delivery never happens, quality of terminal is awful (continually breaks). I've just read other comments and I'm not alone. Avoid this company at all costs.

Highly recommend avoiding

1.0 6 months ago

Comments: The rep from Clover on the initial sales committed that there program could do something that was instrumental to our sales process. Simply it was the only thing that we confirmed with them that it would be able to do. After repeatedly being told yes, it could do that, we signed with them. After signing, we were informed that despite being told it could do it, it cannot. When we brought to there attention that we had been told it could and we had those conversations recorded, they basically said that's not their problem. Additionally they locked in for 4 years without providing this service and now we have to pay to get out early.

Pros:

Very Little worth mentioning in the whole process

Cons:

Cant do some of the services that they claim it can. Very long contract.

Poor software and a false advertising to pull new customers.

1.0 last year

Comments: Fun at first, but slowly becoming the worst experience I have ever had with a POS system.

Pros:

Nice clean design. Lots of promises that weren't met.

Cons:

Their customer service will inform you that they will not give you new terminals despite their failure to operate properly and regardless of their "hassle free exchange policy".Software glitches are abundant and rampant throughout the device. Chase systems although ugly were far more stable and reliable.
