We have been using the product for many years and it has greatly streamlined our processes. We have only had to reach out to tech support a handful of times and they have always been extremely efficient and quick to resolve any issue. We recently had a large unexpected conversion project that had to get done extremely quickly. The interface is archaic and the options are hard to understand. The manual is non-existent for explanations but otherwise if you click each option, it jumps correctly to the next tab. > > **Cons**: It is limited by number of CPUs licensed. This was not apparent to us during demo and we had 12 CPUs running as it was unlimited so speed was awesome and there were no hiccups. Once we licensed, we found out that one CPU is not enough. If there are nested PDFs where one PDF contains multiple PDFs within, it will just hang as there are no CPUs licensed to tackle the PDF within the PDF, then if you license 2 CPUs, it gets hung if there is a PDF within a PDF within a PDF. Given that we work in the legal industry and we got this software specifically so we could process PDFs we received into searchable documents, these snags and gotchas are a pain. On top of all these, it will take sub PDFs and OCR and create separate files from them. It does not know how to reassemble them into the original form. We can't present that at trial. During its OCR runs, it will error without any notification as to why and the software will leave off and there is no record as to where it stopped. If I'm processing a large number of documents, either I will have to re-process everything or drill down into subfolders to find where it stopped by finding the file names. The last thing is that it can't handle both monitoring folders and batch processing at the same time. Since we are working with live data, we need to have concurrent processes so that we can work in background for old files and have it monitor so we can catch up, or else we are always playing catchup. Again, a CPU limitation. > > We struggled through and managed to process some PDFs.
