Last month I was invited to teach this subject in a workshop for students of Jacobs University. Despite of an online nature I wanted participants to take the best out of it, therefore I was thinking to provide some materials beforehand to get them on board with theory basics and fill in Business Model Canvas. I picked the Workademy platform to build my pre work course because it had the functionality other platforms were missing. My goal was to make a wow effect and present content in a new way to grab students' attention and at the same time not to spend too much resources on my side. On the Workademy I used this unique format that is called “dialog-like”. It allows to transform text into a conversation between two people. For the learners it seems like they are inside the chat window reading the conversation. It is super engaging and requires less effort than, for example, video course. The course editor is user-friendly, it is what you see is what you get, you don’t need to open another admin interface, you just click the “editing mode“ toggle and start editing right away. It provides flexibility so I could change the part of the lecture anytime. My students loved it\! They told me they were expecting some boring 40-minutes videos of talking heads and they were surprised seeing such an engaging format. Innovative platform hosting the topic of the Lean Startup. And it was awful. There were two main reasons: I needed specific knowledge, so I had to hire additional staff. Additional costs and additional time to complete the task is not the most pleasant thing that can be. the platform wasn't flexible and usable for new solutions in online-education.
